Four conditions that often change the answer

The broad question asks one image to answer something personal, cultural, and subjective. A more useful review starts with what this frame can show, then checks the scene that created it.

  • Distance. A camera held very close exaggerates near features through perspective.
  • Light. Direction and softness change shadows, texture, and apparent balance.
  • Angle. Camera height and head rotation reveal different contours and relationships.
  • Expression. Tension, blinking, and timing can alter the whole impression.
